Nino Burjanadze – Government Learnt No Lesson from November 7

Nino Burjanadze, the head of Democratic Development Fund, ex chairman of Georgian Parliament, addressed to Mikheil Saakashvili, the President of Georgia by an open letter.

Nino Burjanadze commences the letter with the events of 2003 and declares that then three political leaders took responsibilities for the future of Georgia.

‘Success of that time and the unprecedented support inside and outside the country, were based on the entity and the condition and promise that we will fight for deserving, democratic development of our country. I was true to this promise and condition which we gave to Georgians during the years.’ – Burjanadze remarks.

As ex-chairman states cause of political disagreement with Mikheil Saakashvili and its political group, she often had the wish to leave the group.

As Nino Burjanadze says she though that November 7 would be a severe lesson for the Government.

‘Though, unfortunately, as it seems Government has learnt nothing form November 7 and launched only formal and facade changes and the wish of Georgian people appeared to be ignored again. It was unacceptable for me to go on running the country by revolutionary regime. I warned the President before November 7, regarding Sandro Girgvliani’s case, notified him aware of danger of the war as well, and underlined that ignoring own mistakes will always end badly.

‘I see it clearly that the main priority of today’s Government is to maintain the authority. Therefore, there is a danger that the attempt of maintaining the authority will force one make a mistake again.’ – is said in the address of Nino Burjanadze.

He appeared on TV in 2009, attending one of the events of the Strategic Research Centre of America, but did not express any desire to talk to Georgian journalists and threatened to set the police on them.

“The current Government is doing the opposite things to what Zurab Zhvania wanted. This is why I joined Patarkatsishvili’s team, as I thought he was the person who could reverse these incorrect policies. Patarkatsishvili could have brought profit for our country.

Discussions about orgasms and G-spots on the first Georgian television talk show about sex have effectively spluttered from broadcasting studios into the sphere of public debate. The Night with Shorena, a talk show about sex aired on Imedi TV, has offended Georgian religious groups and could potentially spill over into a full-blown lawsuit.
