Georgian Side Refutes Tskhinvali Regime’s Accusation on Firing

Georgian officials deny the fact of firing towards Otrevi village controlled by Tskhinvali regime as the separatists accused them.
Head of Shida Kartli Police Department Vladimer Jugheli assesses this fact as provocation from Russia and so called military bodies of Ossetian regime make provocations for destabilization in the region.
As Puppet Mode Tskhinvali Ministry of Defense stated mortar fire was open from Plavi Village towards Otrevi village on August 3 22.05.
One of three mortar shells exploded in the village.

Shevardnadze’s former advisor detained in USA Temur Basilia, former economic adviser to President Eduard Shevardnadze, was detained in the USA on 4 February. He has lived in the USA for the last few years demanding political asylum. He appeared on TV in 2009, attending one of the events of the Strategic Research Centre of America, but did not express any desire to talk to Georgian journalists and threatened to set the police on them.
