New presidential candidate emerges in breakaway Abkhazia
Vitali Bgangba, a 54-year politician, is the first candidate who has been officially nominated as the presidential candidate in the so-called presidential elections of the Abkhazian puppet regime. Bgangba has been nominated by the political party United Abkhazia, though he is not the member of any political party. Georgian experts have downplayed the emergence of a new political figure in the election race. Expert Levan Kiknadze asserts the real candidates in this race will be only the current leader of the separatist regime Sergey Baghapsh and the former vice president, Raul Khajimba. `The appearance of the new candidates is an attempt of Russia to convince the international community that democracy is developing in Abkhazia, ` Levan Kinadze said.
