Parliament to Staff Commission Studying Reasons of Zviad Gamsakhurdia’s Death
Parliament will elect chairman and members of the interim commission of parliament studying reasons of Zviad Gamsakhurdia’s death. Son of the first president of Georgia, Konstantine Gamsakhurdia will chair the commission. He will also have quota of a deputy without a fraction. Deputy Jondi Baghaturia will enter the commission with the same quota. Deputies Lasha Tordia, Teimuraz Tsurtsumia, Rati Samkurashvili and Bezhan Khurtsidze will take four quotas of the National Movement. Levan Vephkhvadze and Rati Maisuradze from Christian Democrats and Naul Janashia from the Majorities will be in the commission. Nugzar Ergemlidze will enter the opposition fraction Mighty Georgia, though the second quota is vacant, as the fraction has not yet taken the decision. If the fraction refuses the second quota and the commission is staffed by 10 members instead of 11, procedure of creation of the commission will be postponed by two weeks.
