Abkhazian television has released an interview with the leader of the so-called Abkhazian eparchy Besarion Aplia, who has reiterated his address to Russian and Georgian patriarchs, which was released in media yesterday.
Aplia sent the letter to the Russian Patriarch Kiril and the Holy Synod of Russia and the Patriarch of All Georgia, in which he asked Russian religious leaders to help them regain the canonical status of the orthodox church to the Abkhazian church.
`We want to inform you that during the past 15 years the leader of the Tskhum-Abkhazia eparchy, Daniel Datuashvili paid no attention to the Abkhazian orthodox church and its parishes. Before God and the nation we confirm that we did not receive epistles, congratulations and other spiritual subsistence neither from the Georgian orthodox church nor the eparchy of Tskhum-Abkhazia,` the letter says.
