Davit Bakradze says Eduard Ghrutskaia’s Death is One more Ethnic Murder
Chairman of parliament Davit Bakradze considers that death of refugee from
Abkhazia living in Moscow is one more fact of ethnic murder. He says that
there are numerous facts of ethnic pressure against Georgian in Russia. ‘We
remember the period, when Georgian was deported by order of Russian high rank
officials; Georgian children were expelled from schools. This could not have
gone without leaving influence on the mentality of the militiaman,’ chairman of
parliament stated. Eduard Ghurtskaia, 19-year-old refugee from Abkhazia,
was beaten to death by three Russian militiamen on 23 November. Two of the
suspects were released. Militiaman Anvar Ibragimov, suspect of Eduard
Ghurtskaia’s murder will be brought to charge today. Ministry of refugees and
accommodation of Georgia will cover costs of transfer of Ghurtskaia’s body.
