Christian Democratic Movement of Georgia has sent a special address to the embassy of France in Georgia asking to refrain from providing Russian fleet with assault weapons. Nika Laliashvili of the movement introduced the content of the letter to media today. He said Russian officials had begun speculations that Russia would occupy Georgia easily if it had proper hardware in its fleet, meaning the Mistral, an amphibious assault ship a type of helicopter carrier of the French Navy. Laliashvili said the president of France, who is the author of the ceasefire document during the Georgia-Russia war, cannot sign the decision on providing Russian with offensive weapons.
