Lawyers Planning Meeting with Badri Patarkatsishvili
Lawyers of Badri Patarkatsishvili plan to meet with their client. One of the attorneys, Shalva Shavgulidze, reported to InterpressNews that the venue and time of the meeting are not yet known. ‘I think it’s better to meet and come to some agreement regarding our positions.
Although, perhaps, we come to agreement by phone and no meeting will then be needed,’ he said, adding that they will finally decide the meeting issue after the Appeals Court makes its ruling.
‘Now we are waiting for the ruling of the Appeals Court,’ he said. The Prosecutor General’s Office of Georgia has declared business tycoon Badri Patarkatsishvili as wanted. On January 15, Tbilisi City Court’s Panel of Criminal Cases sentenced Badri Patarkatsishvili to a two-month pre-trial custody in absentia.
The sentence will begin from the day of his arrest. Badri Patarkatsishvili is charged with masterminding a terror attack against a high-ranking politician, and also, a coup plot. A criminal case was filed against the businessman based on a covert audio recording between Badri Patarkatsishvili and SOD Head Erekle Kodua.
