President of Georgia to Pay Two-day Visit to Ukraine

President of Georgia will pay visit to Ukraine on 18 November. President will meet with his Ukrainian counterpart Viktor Yushchenko.
As InterpressNews was told by embassy of Georgia in Ukraine, other official visits are also scheduled.

President of Georgia will take part in the political talk show of national channel ‘Ukraina’. Political situation in the region, conflicts and Georgian-Ukrainian relations will be discussed.

The embassy informs that experts and representatives of Ukraine’s society take part in the talk show. Audience puts questions in the programme.

Saakashvili will open new building of embassy of Georgia in the centre of Kiev together with president of Ukraine.

Visit of Mikheil Saakashvili will end on 20 November.

New Constitution Gives All Power to the Prime Minister The Parliament of Georgia has created a Commission on Public Hearings into the Constitutional Changes. It consists of 36 members, including Members of Parliament, experts and representatives of civic society, but it is largely composed of members of the State Constitutional Commission, which drafted the new Constitution. It will be led by Speaker of Parliament David Bakradze, whose deputy will be State Constitutional Commission head Avtandil Demetrashvili.

Statement The persecution which is currently being inflicted on members of the Public Orthodox Movement is only due to their free expression of opinion. 8 members of the Movement have been imprisoned for two months, while Georgian justice has used a special legal provision against the leader of the Movement, Malkhaz Gulashvili, and his juvenile son David Gulashvili. This provision has not been used against any other citizen of Georgia so far.
